Kauloa Regional Park

Nearly 3 years ago Xerxes customer International Wastewater Technologies, Inc. was contacted by engineers representing the City and County of Honolulu Parks Division to solve a wastewater problem. The facility, Kualoa Regional Park is located on a 150-acre peninsula of Kualoa Point on the windward side of Oahu. The site has a unique set of design requirements especially suited for Xerxes FRP tanks.

Wastewater treatment at the site would require a watertight, corrosion resistant product due to high rainfall and salt water conditions. The highly sensitive wetland habitat sitting nearby at the base of the Koolau Mountains needed the protection of a complete treatment system whose discharge would not negatively affect the environment.

Together with our partner International Wastewater Technologies and their Cyclic Biological Treatment (CBT) system, Three-15,000 gallon Xerxes 8-foot diameter single-wall tanks we were able to create the answer the engineers we looking for. The future is safe for Kualoa Regional Park, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, as it blends with the coastal environment of the Island of Hawaii.
