ZCL Composites Inc. Field Tests Tank Lining System

Edmonton, Alberta December 14, 2004... ZCL Composites Inc. (TSX:ZCL) is pleased to announce the commencement of field testing of its Prezerver+Plus+™ Tank Lining System that has been developed over the past year. The Prezerver+Plus+™ System upgrades a steel or fiberglass single wall tank to a level that meets the requirements of secondary containment and continuous monitoring.

The Prezerver+Plus+™ System adapts proven technology used in the Company’s Prezerver® double wall tanks that are currently purchased by most major and independent oil companies in Canada, and will carry the same warranty and benefits offered by the Prezerver® products. This lining process upgrades a single wall tank “in situ” with a three-dimensional laminate using patented materials combined with a proprietary state-of-the-art curing system. In addition, the System allows storage of new fuels, including the new ethanol and other blends now being legislated in certain provinces in Canada and states in the United States.

Tank lining is a very large and lucrative international market and, at this time, there are no competitive alternative products in the marketplace. The Company estimates that the potential annual lining market in North America could be in excess of $300 million.

Preliminary results of the first field trial are very encouraging. The purpose of field testing is to establish system performance and training requirements for a superior quality product along with safe installation techniques. Further tests will continue to evaluate performance and installation under various site and weather conditions. Qualified applicators will be trained in all aspects of this new system prior to full implementation.
