ZCL Composites Inc. Signs Major Contract

Edmonton, Alberta October 20, 2004... ZCL Composites Inc. (TSX:ZCL) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a six-year contract by Shell Canada to supply fiberglass tanks and related products across Canada. The contract covers the period April 1, 2004 to March 31, 2010.

Shell Canada is one of ZCL's largest customers and a cornerstone of the Company's business in Canada for many years. ZCL has secured supply agreements with most of the major and independent oil companies in Canada and, through these long-term relationships, remains the industry leader in underground fuel storage.

This announcement was made by Mr. Ven Côté, President and CEO, currently attending the industry's major trade show, the 2004 PEI (Petroleum Equipment Institute) Convention at the NACS (National Association of Convenience Stores) Show, being held in Las Vegas, Nevada. "This contract demonstrates Shell's confidence in ZCL and our ability to consistently deliver the high quality products and service that our customers value," said Mr. Côté. This contract is evidence of the long term benefits of successfully meeting that commitment."
