New CEO signals end of turnaround at Edmonton’s ZCL
JULY 28, 2012
EDMONTON - After leading a dramatic turnaround at ZCL Composites, outgoing CEO Rod Graham is clearly relishing his next role.
Once new boss Ron Bachmeier takes over the top job Aug. 8, Graham will get to be a regular dad once again, moving back to the Calgary home he shares with his wife and three kids.
“We’ve got an eight-year-old, a 12-year-old and a 14-year-old, and because of athletics and academics it was just too difficult to move them here,” says Graham.
“For two years now I’ve been going back and forth, and I’ve kind of missed two years of my kids’ growing up. So I’m really looking forward to driving the kids to school in September,” he says.
Of course, that’s not all the former private equity financier will be doing. Graham will remain a director of ZCL — a maker of environmentally friendly fibreglass storage tanks for the oil and gas industry — while also serving on the boards of four other companies.
